Together with my family, I had the opportunity to enjoy some delicious mushrooms, while we admired the breathtaking landscape of the surrounding mountains. The service was excellent and the atmosphere relaxing. I can not wait to come back!

My wife and I went for lunch on 10/20/23, welcoming place, the owner Claudia was friendly.
We sit down, I ask if there is a fixed or à la carte menu? She tells me if you want I'll give you the card, I expressed a concept taking confidence by saying I came to eat mushrooms and not pasta"😀Claudia welcomes that expression in positive way by proposing the vertical! without specifying the price), the courses were those you see in the photos (neither first courses nor second courses of meat), 1/2 liter rosé, 1 liter of water from the purifier and 2 coffees.
Quality of the food good (quantity of a gourmet type / tastings), NB: the vertical was missing fried mushrooms and I had to ask for them) Also asking to bring 2 heads of grilled porcini mushrooms...🤨 we close the Vertical, and I start to ask for the
The check, please? €110! oh my God how much do these porcini mushrooms cost I said to myself, then she says I'll give you €100 for meeting a mutual friend... ps if we had taken a first course and a second course each how much would we have paid?😟
I will definitely not return to that restaurant,❌
Nb: a serious and professional restaurateur when a customer asks to eat mushrooms only mushrooms, his professionalism specified the content by bringing the mushrooms, weight, and price to the table, as many serious restaurateurs do... (1, 6 kg of mushrooms?) listen to the photos speak for themselves, I expressed a real criticism of what I was served, nothing more... I paid! don't amplify the matter by being ironic by reminding yourself that no one here is stupid"... I invite you to reflect on what you wrote! Have a good day ❌
I think this place is excellent. Of course, perhaps the price is a little high. However, they use quality raw materials and a very particular preparation of the dishes. Finally, being a restaurant that cooks mushrooms... let's say they don't skimp on quantities... in short, the mushrooms are there! Just ask clearly the price and evaluate what and how much to eat.
Today I went with some friends to Rocca Santa Maria (TE) Fraz. Balvedere (the road that leads to the famous "Ceppo"), and we had lunch in the "Rifugio dell'Alpino", led by the owner Mrs. Claudia, the place is modern, nice and welcoming, there are large windows where you can see a wonderful view, we ordered the porcini-based appetizers (9 in total at the price of €28) in my opinion some of these were not perfect, in the tripe with beans and porcini mushrooms, the latter were not well combined and the bean was a little out of place, in the stew with lamb and pork the porcini mushrooms were few, the mushrooms with rosemary, the latter was very present and its flavor was too strong, the scampi with a porcini mushroom on top they looked like the ones bought in oil, however as regards the first courses both the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and the green gnocchi with porcini mushrooms were excellent, while in the ravioli with burrata the flavor of lemon and porcini mushrooms was too strong not very tied (price of the first course €10-12), as a second course only a portion of very good mixed grill (price €12), however the portions are fair, the service offered by two very young boys was excellent, they were very kind and professional , finally the price per person is €45.5 (I attach the receipt and photos of the dishes). I recommend taking just a few appetizers and maybe choosing a second course.
Clean, bright and well furnished place, even the toilets are clean and well kept, excellent cuisine, medium-high price but considering the quality of the raw materials and the goodness, it is in line with what you ate.
The view of the mountains is very suggestive and you can easily park your car, there is also the possibility of sitting outdoors and it is pet friendly.
Fast service, young, courteous and professional wait staff.
Obviously the workhorse are porcini mushrooms, which are cooked in many ways.
The staff will offer you various gastronomic itineraries.
Hot and cold appetizers based on porcini mushrooms are an obligatory step, as are tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, a special role for roast potatoes and homemade desserts.
Ps for the fried mushrooms it is advisable to reserve them
"The Alpine refuge" evokes through its name, a remote place in the mountains of Teramo at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. Here: put this thought out of your mind and let yourself be carried away by this culinary journey based on …
If it weren't for the curvy road and the distance from Ascoli Piceno (about 50 km) I would eat there every day! Welcoming and informal place, suitable for everyone! The food? The porcini mushroom cooked to perfection and in every way is the king of the menu! Highly recommend for mushroom lovers.
